Born Shaun Mohammed, on December 23 1989, the origin of Vibes’ interest in hip-hop is deeply rooted in his childhood. He was privileged to grow up during a time that allowed him to experience hip-hop as it was when translated and utilized by influential artist like The Notorious Big and Tu pac Shakur. He grew to love hip-hop for its ability to paint pictures in his mind and its ability to directly address matters of social injustices in a positive way.
At a very young age Vibes began to use this outlet called hip-hop to express himself in ways which he was unable to do so with any other medium. He wrote rhymes for just about everything going on around him, and it wasn’t long before he grew confident enough to share his work with others; earning himself the title “Rapper” by his peers.
