In The Spirit is a continuation of the music recorded on Morning Time. Murch unites with a stellar sextet to perform original compositions and capture the purity of the moment. The music is rooted in the spirit of jazz, gospel, funk, soul, and reggae. Andrae's role as a sideman with The Duke Ellington Orchestra, The Skatalites, and Abdullah Ibrahim has been a major inspiration for the music arranged and performed on this project. In the Spirit represents growth in faith and the spiritual belief in reaping the harvest of soul, love, and Gods promise.
